The CUNEO BIKE HOTELS Project

Chrono Test Point

CHRONE TEST POINT will include 14 uphill sections. The cycling tourist or the enthusiast or cycling sportsman will have the chance to experience the thrills of the Giro d’Italia bike race, simply by collecting a special magnetic card from the special information point, to be inserted from the departure point, or from the arrival point at the end of the climb. The cyclist will be guided by a series of specific vertical signs indicating the place, the average slope to be covered from the point at which the sign is actually located until the subsequent one, the progressive distance remaining to the peak and the altitude. At the end of the downhill tract the cyclist will be given a participation certificate, as well as all the details on the actual time taken, he will be able to verify his classification both in terms of the times taken, and the age of the participant and so compare his times with that of the champions.

There are already three operational CHRONO TEST POINTS known as:
The Fauniera Chrono Test Point in the Grana valley extending from Pradleves to the Fauniera Pass, the Agnello Chrono Test Point which extends from Chianale to the Agnello Pass in the Varaita Valley and the Pian del Re. Chrone Test Point from Paesana with an intermediate stage at Crissolo arriving at the Pian del Re in the Po, Bronda and Infernotto valleys.
A further 11 points will be set up by the 31st December 2003 in the Tanaro valley, in the Mondovi valleys, in the Gesso, Vermenagna and Pesio valleys, in the Stura valley, in the Maira valley, at Barge and in the Po valley.
